YOGA ADOBE
Current news: I have now completed the requirements to be certified as a Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists!!! Over the course of this 800 hour training, spanning 3 years, I learned new ways to think about the practices of physical movement, mental focus and spiritual connection. There are so many ways to personalize the practice so if you have a special need, please approach me and let’s work together so that you may potentially move towards greater ease in your life and your practice. Enjoy your journey!
I am a lifelong learner – here’s a little background on my journey through yoga so far. I began practicing yoga from the inspiration of Richard Hittleman’s Yoga 28 Day Practice Plan in the late 70’s and continue to enjoy the peace, focus and creativity fostered by a regular yoga practice. I became certified with YogaKids International as a Certified YogaKids Facilitator in 2005. Choosing to fulfill a longtime wish to teach adult yoga, my education continued with the Shambhava School of Yoga earning the 200-hour Teacher certification in 2007 and the 75-hour Level Two training in 2008. In addition to this I earned a Prenatal certification in July of 2009, and have attended Silver Sneakers training’s which focus on working with seniors. In August of 2014 I spent a week at the Shoshoni Yoga Ashram near Nederland, Colorado to participate in the Yoga of Healing certificate program. I have co-facilitated 9 groups of students through a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program offered through Front Range Community College in Loveland. I also hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition and Fitness from Colorado State University and approach food from a holistic focus.
The combination of these training’s inspired me to open my own studio, Yoga Adobe, where I can offer classes across the life span. I enjoy working with people of all ages and sizes! The intimate class setting at Yoga Adobe facilitates a personal approach to yoga, combining the tools of asana, conscious breathwork, visualization and meditation to lead students into the serenity all of you already possess.
